This is the biggest mistake I made when I started investing. I went to a financial advisor at a bank who I didn't realize was actually just a mutual fund sales person. They invested my money in a bunch of mutual funds, which I thought was a good idea at the time. Little did I know is that these mutual funds have super high fees and it was just eating away at my portfolio. Flash forward 10 years, I've taught myself everything about investing and now I do self-directed investing. I'm teaching everything I learned about investing so you don't have to go through the same thing I went through.
