What in the AI hell is this? I almost had to do a double take when I was scrolling at 3am the other night because I was just scrolling on my TikTok feed and I was getting surf TikTok shop ads and whatever. And this video popped up and I had to like, duly double take because I was like that, actually looks kind of incredibly real like when you're sort of sleepy at 3am. But then like when my eyes finally came into focus, I was like, damn, that is an AI generated video. So hi, FUNY here. My name is Jamie. I'm a social media strategist and I teach creators how to build intentional and scalable brands. And this is why I have been drilling into everybody's heads. Now more than ever, there needs to be something about you that is memorable, that is authentic, that sticks out in the creator space. Because quite literally, I know we all kind of say like AI is taking our jobs, but I mean AI is now even like on TikTok shop. If you are a creator in any capacity right now on social media, I need you to understand that AI is quite literally changing the creator economy faster than most people even realize. And what is AI doing that's different than what you're doing? Or what is AI doing that's better than what you're doing? Or what is AI doing that you can't do? Because they're already generating videos that sell products that have affiliate links. They push different features, they look incredibly polished. And even though you can still kind of tell their AI, you're just scrolling pretty quickly and you're not actually that familiar with AI, you might actually be fooled by it. And then there's people that I actually don't even think care because generally if I'm watching the AI video and I kind of like the product, am I gonna buy it anyways, even though it was made by a robot? Or am I gonna go out of my way to search for an actual creator with an actual review? I feel like it could go either way because some people are obviously super turned off by AI and they hate it and some people are kind of leaning more into it and they're just kind of accepting that this is our reality now. If your content is only product demonstrations and like surface level content, AI can already compete with that. AI actually might outperform your video because it looks more polished, but AI absolutely cannot replicate you, your experiences, your storyline, your personality. I made a video at the beginning of 2026 that content creators with the strongest personalities were gonna blow up the fastest. I still now in March, 100% think that that is true. We are seeing it in the creator economy everywhere. AI literally can't replicate personality, they just can't and they also can't replicate perspective. And ironically, the more AI that shows up on these platforms like TikTok and Instagram, the more people crave real people. But again, if you're not memorable, it doesn't matter. Authenticity is 100% the competitive advantage when it comes to being a content creator. So if you're making content right now, the goal isn't to compete with AI.
